Noah began composing concert music when he was 15 years old and graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Composition from Northwestern University, where his principal composition teachers were Lee Hyla and Hans Thomalla. After graduating from Northwestern, he moved to Vienna, Austria, where he worked at KAIROS Musikproduktion (a record label for New Music) and studied comparative literature at the University of Vienna. He then returned to Chicago, in order to enter the PhD program in Germanic Studies at the University of Chicago.
Noah is a member of the noise/free jazz/electronics duo, Aerial Drones, in which he plays saxophone and electronics. Additionally, he is active on Chicago's free jazz scene and recently composed electronic music for an evening-length experimental, participatory theater piece in collaboration with the performance group Maplewood Gardens entitled A Mangled Ego Prowls, which premiered in June 2016 in Chicago.
